This project involved the business process and application redesign of an existing Software as a Service (SaaS) for a Telecommunications company. I was approached by management to examine and document the current process to prepare for transition to another system. During the analysis, I discovered several opportunities for improvement and developed a future process that would eliminate inefficiencies.

Challenge

A Telecommunications company required a new application for processing material orders. The current application was a hosted solution that did not allow for easy customization to suite the growing needs of the company.

Solution

To replace their current SaaS with an in-house solution. Using an application development toolset, to allow for more flexible business process and direct connection to the company's financial system, without the requirement for middleware. The new solution, is a Web Application that allows people to place orders and make financial account requests. With over 50 thousand transactions a year valued at $220 million, it's one of the most critical tools used throughout the company.
